NOV:

Nov 4 = Tosca by Giacomo Puccini (sung in Italian with English supertitles) November 4th 2005 at 8pm and November 6th 2005 at 2pm. Returning to the Pioneer stage Deborah Raymond as Floria Tosca, the ravishing diva who finds herself torn between the man she loves and a villainous chief of police, Scarpia. Manipulated by the Scarpia, Tosca is forced to bargain for her lover by sacrificing her body. Tosca accepts Scarpia's villainous terms for her lover's freedom, but pulls a switch that will ultimately backfire. Laced with intrigue, Tosca is one of Puccini’s most famous operas. Passion ignites the heart of this sensual story. There is a certain thrill when one sees Tosca that is different from experiencing any other opera. Tosca has the excitement and appeal of a first-run thriller - the audience is confronted with murder and obsessive love, intensified with music of incredible power and beauty.
